The Getaway House Tempest, while suitable for all audiences, is not a children's show, although students from host schools may participate (Chorus). Shakespeare's text is honoured, using whatever conjures the most theatrical power, whether traditional means or innovative ones.
The Tempest is non-paying, with no government funding, now one year in development & previewed in May, 2008. Getaway House (Michael Caplan, Artistic Director) brings experienced artists, newcomers, special guest contributors & others together in unique settings to create daring, yet welcoming theatrical events.
